Toronto, like a major part of Turtle Island, got a fresh coat of snow. In between shoveling our sidewalk and admiring it all, I've been doing some behind-the-scenes modification to my Python-based static blog generator. Hopefully it's obvious why -- the site now has a new look! Like a fresh coat of winter snow, the site looks and feels a bit different.

I worked with Are0h who supplied the CSS, a new logo, and a dash of Javascript to bring about the new look. We went with a cleaner design, with a bit more emphasis on visuals and less emphasis on the archives. But don't worry -- the archives are still available for all your FOSS Academic Lifestyle Dream research.

And also don't worry! The unabashed adherence to FOSS in the face of it all will continue. In fact, this site's backend hosting is going to shift (or will shift by the time you read this) to a self-hosted, NGINX-powered virtual machine in a Canada-based academic cloud centre.

If you like the new look, let me know via the fediverse (see below).
